Wordpress
How about a Hootsuite plugin for wordpress that allows editors to have hootsuite controls in the "edit post" page. Allow editors to write a post, and then use the hootsuite plugin to schedule when their new post would be sent out to social networks, or view hootsuite analytics for specific posts.
Hi everyone!
We’re happy to announce that support for self-hosted WordPress.org is available via the HootSuite App Directory: hootsuite.com/appdirectory
More information about the WordPress app and related features can be found here: http://help.hootsuite.com/entries/22188562-wordpress-org-app-overview
If you are having difficulties adding your WordPress app please check out this help article on connecting your blog: http://help.hootsuite.com/entries/22201246-wordpress-org-app-known-issues
Thank you for your continued feedback and thanks for using HootSuite!

I agree on this issue...it's a deal-breaker for me. The lack of a method to enter a subject separate from the body is kinda lame considering how long Wordpress.com has been around. As stated before, self-hosted WordPress sites DO support XML-RPC/Metaweblog interface, so what's the hold-up? WIthout decent Wordpress.com support and no self-hosted Wordpress, HootSuite won't work for me at this point. Sorry!

MS WIndows Live Writer connects directly to edit/post to self-hosted wordpress. If the slow, sluggish MS can figure it out, a couple years ago, can't hootsuite, being genius young hotshots?
Or is this just a holdout for a pay version? If so, how about adding it and limiting to 1-2 blogs?

any update on this? it's the only BIG thing stopping us from signing up for a pro account. At least an indication if and when this might happen. HS looks great but we have 10 self hosted blogs to track - no good with out that ability.

We are beginning a trial of HS Pro, but just realized that it will not support WordPress self-hosted sites. Our organization manages 2 such sites, and will be moving all of the rest (5 more) to self-hosting in the near future. If HS cannot support this, then it is possible that we will not subscribe.

well, it would actually be fairly easy to create a hootsuite plugin or use xmlrpc (windows live writer, etc.)

This would be awesome.
Also, ability to moderate pending comments would be amazing as well. Approve, Unapprove, Spam, Trash.

This needs to be addressed especially with the Pro version of Hootsuite being rolled out. Other social media dashboards provide this so blaming the delay on an API doesn't hold up anymore, especially with the wordpress XML-RPC publishing interfaces. I love hootsuite but this is a must needed upgrade.

I encourage all of my small business clients to use Wordpress for their business websites. You would be surprised how many businesses do already use Wordpress. I see blogging platforms as the future of business websites. A very needed fix.

This is certainly something that would make Hootsuite even more amazing than it already is.

Definitely would love a direct way of doing this but short of that would like to hear what hootsuite's official interim solution for this is, is ping.fm the preferred method or is there a better way.. either way would love to find something on the site that gives us some direction...

can't you do this already using ping.fm or by email to posterous [I'm knew here, but this is how I sometimes do updates to by self-hosted wordpress blogs elsewhere]

Has there been any progress on this? I can't yes hoot suite as effectively as I want to without this issue being resolved. Is there an ETA on a fix?
Thanks,

I would really value this, too.... my blog is http://cubbon.blogs.sauder.ubc.ca/
and if I could publish from HS to the blog that would be excellent added value. -

Awesome idea! I dont have any more votes left, but we are having the same problem with this here in Norway. The biggest blog platform (http://vgb.no/) is using wordpress, but we cant update the blogs from Hootsuite.

This requires is because of an issue with Wordpress API - we're definitely looking at this.

There are two similar suggestions for this for which the votes should somehow be combined.

Great idea, I've seen other apps including Flock (http://www.flock.com/) provide this option.
