Although one can use it through web, the identi.ca app does not work over the hootsuite mobile app.

The identi.ca app by now can only access identi.ca although the software behind identi.ca (statusnet) is used on many different servers. There should be an option to enter the api base path.

If I want to multipost - several accounts, mixed to twitter, identi.ca, facebook - it is useful to post via hootsuite main composer box. At the present I have to copy/paste and post with additional effort.

I was very surprised to see my post look normal in the editor, but appear in the timeline as

I can almost understand the em-dashes being converted, although silent conversion is still annoying.

But dumb-quotes entered directly through the editor?

If it is already available, it isn't obvious.

I have to open up a normal HootSuite post editor, shrink the URL, and past it into my Identi.ca editor.

Not impossible, but seemingly something that could happen behind the scenes.
