I'm coming to HootSuite from TweetDeck and it was very useful for me to be able to clear my columns after I'd read/skimmed through my received tweets and status updates so when I next looked at TweetDeck I start with a clean slate and don't have to try to remember/find where I left off in each of the five Twitter accounts, three Facebook fan pages, personal Facebook feed, and two mySpace pages that I manage. I really love HootSuite, but this is a feature that I'm really missing from TweetDeck.1,510 votes
You are now able to clear read tweets for Home Feed, Mentions and Direct Messages.
To do so, click the arrow at the top of the stream then select Clear Stream. Once this has been done, you can recover your stream by clicking that same arrow and selecting Restore Cleared Messages. This will clear all tweets currently in the stream and only tweets sent after the time of clearing will appear in the stream.
Preview pictures in tweets without needing to click another link to open up another window44 votes
Currently all photos from other clients in Tweets will preview when you open the tweet, with the exception of Twitter native pictures. pic.twitter images will need to be opened in a new window. We’ll look at the possibility of supporting these in the future.
It would be wonderful if, as is with some other clients, I could filter out tweets from specific users, filter out mentions of specific users or applications (like paper.li, for example) or by keyword.29 votes
HootSuite now has filters based on keyword and Klout score. This feature is currently exclusive to users on a Pro plan.
Filters based on application and user is also something worth considering.
Have a chat line where we can get decent support turnaround!9 votes
We are currently in the process of beta testing chat support for HootSuite Pro users. As our resources increase we will look at fully rolling this out in the near future. Thank you for your feedback and your patience as we continue to grow.
add a media preview tool for Linkedin like you have for Facebook237 votes
We’re happy to confirm that users posting to LinkedIn Company Pages and their personal Profiles will see a preview generated on LinkedIn for links.
At this time the preview won’t be shown on HootSuite until after the post is sent, and we’ll look into further functionality in this area in the future.
If you have further questions or concerns, please leave them in the comments below and we would be happy to assist you.
I'd like to set up streams based on a keyword and then filter results by location (UK, London, etc))

This is currently possible using geocode arguments, but not yet possible with the “near:” argument. We’ll look into this as a possible in the future.
There are many non-english tweets in some of my streams. I would like them to be automatically translated to English. Should be a preference that says what language you want them to be translated to.67 votes
Added translation to the iPhone app as a starter. You can translate to/from 50+ languages and automatically translate to your default.
we've already filtered our facebook friends so that we only see certain streams...if we are to really use hootsuite for facebook we need the same listing ability that we currently have for our twitter client185 votes
We’re happy to let you know that you can filter streams by friends, however lists created in Facebook are not yet able to be pulled in through the API.
To create a filtered Facebook stream within HootSuite please refer to the following Help Desk article:
Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please let me know!
Here’s how to delete your tweets from HootSuite: https://help.hootsuite.com/entries/21574151-Deleting-Sent-Tweets
Currently, this is not possible with Facebook wall posts on a profile, though we hope to add this functionality in the future.
It would be awesome if there was the capability to customize the colors/themes of HootSuite Desktop as with other Twitter clients. Even if the selection was limited to just several choices.51 votes
You can choose between three theme options under Preferences (Classic, Blue Steel and Magnum). We’ll look to add more color customization in the future.
Thanks for your feedback.
Allow users to easily export a summary of own or team's social media activity for each social media network for a given time period, such as total posts, replies, retweets, links shared, etc.9 votes
We are now sending email reports of social media activity to a select group of HootSuite users.
Be able to track clicks for all social networks. Currently you can only track clicks through twitter
Will allow us to see best performing social networks. And also allow us to see what content performs the best with each network, so we can tweak our messaging.3 votes
You can now track click for all social networks in individual Ow.ly stats.
Sometimes I click by mistake 'Select all' and send an update, so it's very hard to do it by mistake and delete in all your social networks...3 votes
There’s currently a secure profile feature for individual social network profiles. This feature is exclusive to users on an Enterprise plan.
Hootsuite is the ONLY Twitter app I have in which I can't view the timelines of the people I follow if their profile is set to private. Even though their profile is private, I am STILL supposed to be able to view their timeline because I am actually following them. Hootsuite is the only Twitter app that doesn't allow you to view private timelines of the people you follow. That really sucks. This needs to be fixed immediately.10 votes
If you follow a protected twitter account, their tweets will show up in your Home Feed. At this time, timelines from the profile pop-up are pulled through a public search and are unable to pull private users tweets.
We’ll look at changing this functionality soon! Thanks for your feedback.
Currently, this already happens within Facebook. We’ll look at extending this feature with other social networks too.
I would like the option to select text on a webpage, which the hootlet would then grab and use as the text in the tweet instead of using the page title. The URL should then be added at the end. This is done by bit.ly's bookmarklet.15 votes
This is currently possible with Hootlet for Chrome. We’re considering adding this feature for Firefox users as well.
You can already do this with Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Specific streams display only your messages. We may roll this out with other social networks for a future release.
I think it would be be great to see a user's entire Twitter timeline in Hootusite.17 votes
We’ve recently updated this feature to provide 50 status updates in the Twitter timeline. We’ll consider the feasibility of displaying unlimited numbers of statuses in the future.
show conversations (full conversations, including answers!) for any tweet. So you can see if anyone has replied to a tweet
Take a look at TweetDeck for a simple solution. It shows a single thread (including answers!!) of any tweet you click on.
Take a look at Yorufukorou for a more complex solution. It shows not just a single thread but all tweets depending to the clicked tweet. This way you can see all Answeres with all threads in a single view.7 votes
We currently do this for Mention and Home Feed streams. We’ll also consider doing this for other streams as well.
I would like to have a column so I can see when someone writes on my wall or on my page's wall.
I'd also like to be able to see incoming messages from my FB inbox and be able to reply to those messages as well.17 votes
It is now possible to monitor your Facebook wall posts within HootSuite.
As for Inbox messages, we’re considering further ways to extend Facebook functionality with HootSuite.
