Allow longer strings for fine tuning of searches

I noticed that there appears to me a limitation on the length of a search string, i.e. when entering this string the last word allowed is -Ajax. Any plans to allow longer strings so that one can truly fine tune a search to eliminate garbage?

I think you COULD do this. You could have the search the length it is now for sending through the APIs. Then, once that comes back to you, you could let us run more searches and filters on it. For example, a word I'm searching in one of my stacks appears to be in dozens of Twitter user IDs. I can't boolean "NOT" those because I'm out of room in my search.

There are ways to do this, especially with what the person below is saying. Your competitors are allowing for longer search strings, so you can't say it can't be done.
