I suggest you ...

Recurring events

Schedule recurring events from the scheduler without having to do a batch. See Sprout Social's service - very robust and clear reporting, simple user interface for scheduling recurring messages. I would rather upgrade to pro on hootsuite and have this ability here instead.

I agree, this needs to happen. We have a few posts that go out regularly and it's much easier to schedule it once than to continue adding it each time.

I agree, Hootsuite NEEDS a reoccurring events feature

      • Tim Tim commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

This feature would be an amazing addition to HootSuite. It would make posting the same post multiple days so much more efficient.

Please, please, please add a reoccurring events feature! I was using that a lot with Gremlin. I am in the process of deleting my Gremlin account because of multiple issues with them (scheduled events disappearing from my reoccurring list and they can't explain why, not being able to access my scheduled events many times, the ridiculous 4 -5 step process to even get to my scheduled posts, site being down way too many times, tech support who doesn't seem to have a clue how to fix problems.). I had to go with Tweetadder to move my reoccurring tweets to, but still have other tweets and Facebook posts I'd like to schedule on a reoccurring basis, but at a scheduled time, which Tweetadder does not have. I am a huge fan of Hootsuite, I am always recommending you guys to everyone who is looking for a new way to tweet and post. Musicians love your site because they can schedule their band promos. Add the reoccurring events feature and the bands will absolutely love you! I know I will! :-)

Tone Williams, I understand your sentiments. I only been working HootSuite for almost one month. How long have you been working with it?

      • Tone WilliamsTone Williams commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

I am preparing to leave HooteSuite as well. This has been ignored much too long and I feel like I'm wasting my money. I mean after nearly 500 votes, you'd think they'd take this seriously.

Let's get this scheduler ehanancement done, HootSuite web development team! Please add a feature to enable messages to be scheduled with daily option, or the feature within the sscheuler calendar to use the "CTRL"+(left mouse button) to select multiple days in the calendar application.

This is a most have for me, please pay more attention to this feature or i will be moving to another service soon, i really need this, i am wasting a lot of time scheduling my tweets for my recurring campaings.

When I joined Hootsuite you could schedule multiple times for one message to go out - I was shown the facility during training last November. This was the principle reason I upgraded to Pro. Now I learn from Hootsuite that, (for me), this crucial part of their service is simply not available any more - not that I suppose they'll be offering me a refund for the last few months subscription - they recommended I add something to this forum instead. THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!

Yeah, this is one reason I switched away from Hootsuite. Having to do batch messages, and being forced to make everyone different was a big time waster for me. I moved over to Sendible which allows reoccuring events and the messages can be the same. I only post about one message a day, though.

In fact is there any update since your last post back on Oct 26, 2011

I am seriously consedering switching over to Sprout Social because they have this feature!!!

Would love it if you guys can add the recurring feature. Having to do a batch and manually adds way too much work and slows down productivity.

      • Anonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Yes agree with Darshana, sprouts multi scheduling is awesome be great if hootsuite can add this feature

Is there any update on this other than what was posted back on Oct 26 2011

      • RajRaj commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

We agree - we pay for pro and the lack of recurring events is killer. We are going to switch soon because it is a time kill.

      • HannahgwHannahgw commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Please add the functionality to send messages on a recurring basis. Having to schedule every single message for weekly classes that go year round is very tiring. Please help us out with this!

      • Anonymous commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

I'll add my vote for this feature. I handle social media for my client and we post strategically-timed Tweets every evening at a time that is tied into our branding. We often have large-scale events that we want to promote via Twitter over several weeks leading up to the event, with repeating (non-spam) posts to boost ticket sales - it would be a HUGE help to have a way to do this via HootSuite without having to go to the bother of creating a .csv file for these posts. Would really like to see something by way of a response from HootSuite on this, other than "we continue to consider further ways to add more functionality...". If you truly want to keep your customers happy - especially your paying ones - you should seriously consider adding this feature.

You know what would be awesome, is a "Sprinkle" function in HootSuite where if you want a tweet to go out multiple times (for example, in the lead up to a webinar or event, or to keep promoting a good blog post or landing page), to be able to click a 'Sprinkle' button where you can then specify an end date (if you want to -- e.g. if for an event or something that expires) as well as specify how frequently -- e.g. Daily, Almost Daily, Twice a Week, Weekly --- and the 'Sprinkle' element is where HootSuite would intelligently AutoSchedule but ensure a 'repeat tweet' doesn't go out on the same day of the week at the same time, to try to avoid the same users seeing repetitive tweets. Hope that makes sense. In SproutSocial we have been 'manually sprinkling' tweets via the Cmd+click on the Calendar to pick a variety of days. The problem with that though, is that even if you sprinkle across different days of the week, they will all be at the same time of day ... unless you repeat the process of selecting a different time of day, and then selecting different days from the prior group selected. Sprinkle the love ... :)
