add global filters for keyword, application, or user
It would be wonderful if, as is with some other clients, I could filter out tweets from specific users, filter out mentions of specific users or applications (like paper.li, for example) or by keyword.

HootSuite now has filters based on keyword and Klout score. This feature is currently exclusive to users on a Pro plan.
Filters based on application and user is also something worth considering.

I was going to add a suggestion that lets me ignore (filter out) Mentions by individual user, and your suggestion appears to fit the bill. Three votes for you!
