    We’re extremely excited to announce that HootSuite users can now monitor and reply to Private Messages for Pages through the dashboard.

    To add this stream, please first reconnect your Facebook page to accept the new permissions.
    To reconnect the account:
    >Select User Profile (top left)
    >Choose your Facebook Page
    >Choose Settings
    >Reconnect through the Connect to Facebook Button.

    Then, choose Add Stream and the Facebook Page you’d like to add this stream for.

        INSANITY. Why would anyone use this tool if they cannot access their private messages, notifications, etc.? I'm out! Fan pages are not the only concern FB. Get a grip. Makes me want to delete my FB account -- everything has become such a hassle.

        this is for fan pages, not for "personal" FB pages. can this feature be added for regular pages? also for linked in?

        Facebook doesn't allow applications (eg Hootsuite) to send messages from a FB Profile. It only allows message to be read. This feature will never be available on Hootsuite unless FB changes its policy, which is unlikely, as it would open up FB users to mountains of SPAM.

        Just signed up to Hootsuite to manage all our social networking and discovered I can't private message on my profile, only on the page I manage - will not be paying to keep after the 30 day trial - this is a deal breaker for us, will find something else instead. So much for manage all your social networking in one place, very disappointed

        I have excatly the same problem. Why can't I use Hootsuite for Private Messages for Facebook? The group feature is nice, but it's not enough. Or can I add it somehow?

        I can see where the message is visible, but I cannot see where my reply is posting. What might I be missing.

        Lol, I do see the "private messages" as part of the stream options, BUT it only shows if I HAVEN'T picked up the facebook profile to apply it to. When I select my profile, the stream option vanishes...are u guys having issues with the feature? or is it just me?

        Sounds like a really good idea, so I added the stream. But untill now, I can't see the messages. Maybe because the feature just was added? I really hope for it to work soon!

        I wasted a lot of time today trying out Hootsuite. I can't seem to be able to access notifications or send a private message for Facebook while using Hootsuite. If I have to go to Facebook to do these tasks anyway, one of these two sites seems unnecessary. Goodbye, Hootsuite.

        What's especially grating is that Hootsuite, designed to help businesses give better customer service in social channels, has such terrible customer service itself. How exasperating.

        I agree, I also joined Hootsuite so I can manage all my social networks. A Inbox from Facebook, as well as the Share icon for the Facebook photos would be most welcomed.

        The reason I signed up with hootsuite is so I can manage all my s networks at once... I may as well not use HS
