Email alerts for failed scheduled updates
Having updates go out on time is important. If updates aren't going out as scheduled, I need to know ASAP - even if I'm not logged in to Hootsuite.
there needs to be a better warning system in place when things do not post! ie - send us an email!!! This is getting to be ridiculous!
There should be a notification, both via email AND via pop-up of some kind within the web version of Hootsuite, whenever a scheduled post fails to publish.
I would like to receive a notification to my email inbox when a scheduled post fails to post.
Notify me (email) when a scheduled message is not posted due to errors in the system!!!!
When scheduled posts fail no error message or e-mail is sent. This is really inconvenient since you don't see them either in the calendar/overview. only if you check the history.
Sometimes and for different reasons, scheduled posts to Facebook or Twitter fail to publish and the posts 1) vanish, not being found even on drafts and 2) the user has no idea of this because there is no warning. It would be nice to have an email when the scheduled posts fail to be published or to have some way to track them. Also, an option could be to automatically retry at intervals.
Recently, all of my Facebook accounts were disconnected from Hootsuite for some reason, and none of my scheduled posts were published for four days. It would be helpful if you sent out a notification email when this occurs in the future.
After reading help topics, I realize I'm not the only one getting Facebook API errors - a problem that this morning was the reason an important and time-sensitive Facebook update did not publish. Luckily, I was watching and caught it, then posted manually. Please develop fail-safe for this.
HootSuite allows the option for an e-mail notification when a scheduled tweet (or other post) is sent. While I don't need those e-mails, it would be great to have e-mails letting me know if a scheduled tweet couldn't send for whatever reason (one this morning failed because "twitter couldn't be contacted") so that I can jump in manually.
There has to be a better way to inform me when a scheduled tweet has failed to post due to an API problem.
Right now, you have to manually check the pending tweets column.
- An alert across the top of the main page
- Email alert
- Automatic retry (if user selected) for a set period of time
Interesting idea. We’ll examine further ways HootSuite can make use of notifications.
Did this ever end up being resolved or input into the system?
Can someone please contact me in regards to signing up to hootsuite? Preferably by email

PLEASE DO THIS. I really need to know when posts don't go out, especially for Facebook. Hootsuite had some technical issues in the past, and I'd like to know if they don't go out for that reason too so I can post from elsewhere.

And why are old posts not displayed in the calendar? What's the harm? You could make them opaque like in Google Calendar to indicate that they are past posts. That way, if there is a problem, it's easy to notice.
Another option is to add them on top in the 'scheduled posts' box in your streams with a red BG color.
Just some ideas... Anybody else facing this same problem?

Great idea, I had the same problem!
There really should be some notification of a failed scheduled post. I lost several weeks worth of posts because of an authentication issue with LinkedIn. I didn't even know there was a problem.
I had a similar issue like Dak Huntley where my scheduled tweet didn't go out but was scheduled. Did I do something wrong? Is this a problem that is confirmed/duplicated and being worked on?

YES! Please do this... When HootSuite errors out on a FB message (which is WAAAAY too often) I need to know by email immediately, not have to check the UI.

I scheduled a message to go out at 10:30 this morning. The message is no longer in pending stream, but I still do not see it in Twitter or my fanpage.
i need a solution for this problem please :(

I find specially interesting the automatic retry as soon as psooible after a filed scheduled tweet. It happens all the time and I miss a lot of scheduled tweets because of API problems, so please, add it to the next version.
