Distinguish between title, body text and link in LinkedIn group discussions
Currently you can only upload a message to the title or the header of a discussion in LinkedIn groups, which is limited to 200 characters.
It should be possible to add discussions in LinkedIn groups with specifically a title, body text and even link separated in the 'create new message' field.!
Allow posting to groups with the option to include a title, summary and description, along with a link and image.
Sharing content with a post is fairly straight forward. Simply make a POST call to the Groups API:
<title>New Group Discussion</title>
<summary>What does everyone think about platform development?</summary>
<title>Build the Professional Web with LinkedIn</title>
<description>A great resource for finding documentation and answers related to developing on the LinkedIn Platform</description>
The 'content' element contains the information of the actual content you're sharing with the group discussion. If we were to view the group on LinkedIn.com, we can see what the post looks like
I do a lot of posts to LinkedIn groups. I like to put a heading on a LinkedIn post as LinkedIn has this function, but Hootsuite does not have a heading box so my post appears without a heading, just in the text box of a LinkedIn post. This does not look professional, as the majority of LinkedIn posts have a heading. This addition to the Hootsuite compose a message function would really improve this application.
We’ve recently made some updates to how LinkedIn Groups are posted to from HootSuite.
Currently, the maximum character count allowed to LinkedIn from HootSuite is 685 characters. When posting to a LinkedIn Group from HootSuite, the first 200 characters will be taken and used in the title field, with the remaining characters used in the body field of the post.
To split the title and body content of the post prior to the 200 character title limit, please use the following characters: ‘||’ (two vertical bars in a row).

This is really needed! New discussion in the forum: https://forum.hootsuite.com/hootsuite/topics/linkedin_posting_problem
First suggetion was in Aug 2012 and it's still not available? I just upgraded to Pro hoping this was available. Truely dissapointed.

Is anything happening with this?
This is one feature I'd like to see above all others. I can't really justify updating LinkedIn from Hootsuite with the current set-up, as my group contributions just don't look right and are ignored as a result.

I'd really like to see this feature implemented as well. I signed on Hootsuite Pro in order to publish in many networks at once, but it's more like tweeting in many networks at once. In the end I'm copying, deleting and republishing in Linkedin groups, and coping with having the link in the title of the Linkedin status update (which doesn't hurt much but is not what I like to do when links are previewed...).Please add!

I agree this would be a key feature.
This has supposedly been addressed (see: http://feedback.hootsuite.com/forums/40182-hootsuite-com-web-dashboard/suggestions/1221631-add-a-media-preview-tool-for-linkedin-like-you-hav) and yet it hasn't been. This is definitely a MAJOR issue, please look at it as soon as you can.
Please add this functionality if possible! LinkedIn groups are great and we should be able to take advantage of them with Hootsuite.
I'm trying the 30 days pro version because I wanted to publish LinkedIn discussions programmatically, but the current limitations in this feature makes it useless.
Has anything happened with these feature ?
