Use the official RT API for ReTweets
Hootsuite should lead the way in adoption of Twitter's additions to their API. At least give users the choice to use the cleaner less redundant RT API if they don't want to edit the message they are retweeting.

We’re happy to announce a choice of Re-Tweet styles in the new release of HootSuite5.
You can now choose between “old school” traditional RTs or “Twitter native” style.

I am finding that I'd like to be able to choose per retweet. Some I'd like to add my comments to but some I just want to RT for brevity's sake. Why can't I be asked ala Ubertwiiter (on my blackberry)?

I'm a big FAN of hootsuite service but the new RT may be i change my mind to Seesmic web. The new RT make me and my group inconvenient to RT when we have a group discussion. Please make an option for RT then you will be the best . Please please bring it back . ^____^

I think you misunderstood us. We don't want a GLOBAL setting for old vs new style retweeting. We want to do it on a PER TWEET basis.
i.e. as mentioned before, we want:
"Retweet" (new style) and "Retweet with comments" (old style) -

I see the update and understand how to change my preferences but it'd be great to make it easier to switch back in forth between RT versions PER TWEET. For example, when I click the Retweet button, it'd be nice to see option to use New Twitter Retweet version or old/original one vs. "Retweet to your followers?". This is my preference for options on my BlackBerry using Ubertwitter as well- I decide how I want to retweet every time.

I see that you added Twitter RTs, but my immediate response was to search for how to turn it off. I do want the option to choose on the fly, hope this is coming in a future release.

I agree with Jason Birch. I want a quote option, allowing two different RT options -- currently Hoot Suite is less flexible for re-tweets than my BlackBerry app.

Any chance of adding a "Quote" option to the down-arrow menu so that I can use Web Retweets as my default but still easily access old style when desired? On my other clients, I find that I use old/new about 50/50. I don't want to switch the new style off entirely in the options...

NOOOOOO! I must have the old style RT. Please bring back this option or Hootsuite is by by. Why are people trying to kill this feature when the community at large is STILL using it?

Agree with Lightherlamp (I want to be able to ADD VALUE to a reTweet, and if I can't add value or comment on it, I don't see the essence of even retweeting in the first place. Pls bring back the old style of the Hootsuite reTweet feature where I can edit.)

Continue to allow us edit our reTweets. What if I only partially agree with a statement? I want to be able to ADD VALUE to a reTweet, and if I can't add value or comment on it, I don't see the essence of even retweeting in the first place.
