I want to be able clear read tweets/status updates that I've already read..
I'm coming to HootSuite from TweetDeck and it was very useful for me to be able to clear my columns after I'd read/skimmed through my received tweets and status updates so when I next looked at TweetDeck I start with a clean slate and don't have to try to remember/find where I left off in each of the five Twitter accounts, three Facebook fan pages, personal Facebook feed, and two mySpace pages that I manage. I really love HootSuite, but this is a feature that I'm really missing from TweetDeck.
We’ll explore this idea some more.

Good golly I can't believe Hootsuite hasn't answered this or implemented it! I'll stick to my old AIR version of Tweetdeck until Hootsuite adds this functionality - this is a MUST HAVE!

Basically, I'm another TweetDeck user in the past, and just arrived to HS and miss this important, not only for me, feature : MARK THE MESSAGES THAT I'M NOT READ YET, with color, bold-text, anything!

Here it is. March 23, 2012 and apparently Hootsuite doesn't take customer comments seriously. I just switched from Tweetdeck to Hootsuite because Tweetdeck left out so many of its good features when they updated to the new version. Now I find that simple things like being able to clear a stream or have a New Follower column isn't even available in Hootsuite. Companies should think more clearly when updating something so they don't forget about important features that they had. It doesn't make any sense to delete them. That's not progress.

Add me to the list of people wanting to see this feature. I'm a TweetDeck user that just today tried HS for the first time, and I'm amazed that there's no way to clear out the read messages. Why would I want to look at old things in perpetuity?
Unfortunately, I'm guessing that if HS hasn't implemented this basic functionality two years after saying they'd "explore" it, they're not going to.

Uh... so what's up, Hootsuite? This is the one feature keeping me on TweetDeck, even though they've kinda gotten worse since Twitter bought them.

Looks like HS doesn't care about their user base. 883 votes, 2 years old request, still no update.

Please, just do exactly what CoTweet does. Show me when you have a tweet scheduled, let me clear them off when they are done. I am trying to sort through lots of noise, and it's hard to do when you take away the tools one needs to do that.

I have just switched from TweetDeck to HootSuite and this is a MASSIVE negative. If you can't clear the tweets you've already read it makes it really difficult to see what's new and what's not. This is already really annoying.

This one is the one that will make me switch to Hootsuite. I hate seeing all the tweets I have already read multiple times and would love to be able to clear them

I left Tweetdeck because it's a miserable experience. I just learned that I can't clear my columns and did a search to see if I was missing something. Now I know I can't. This is an absolute for me, so I am going to look for a new app to use until Hootsuite integrates this functionality. It's sad, because this is the ONLY app that is worth its salt these days.

Looks like last note from HootSuite was in April of 2010 and now it's 2012. Can we get this looked at again? With the new version of TweetDeck "losing" this functionality it would be great if there was someway in HootSuite to track which tweets have been read (either by clearing or some other method).

Agree. Am moving from Tweetdeck as well and would like to either be able to clear the column so only new material shows up OR a better function would be to mark as read/replied/etc.

I would also really like this. Tweetdeck has removed this feature from their app, making it completely useless to me. I'd like to find a new desktop app, but if you guys don't have this feature, I'll keep looking.

The very reason we want this is because we are part of a larger team. In Cotweet we can all see a list of outstanding messages that we need to respond to, deal with or analyse, once a team member has delt with it it can be hidden so at handover the next person knows which ones need work.
