keep column scrolling position when updating
If you're at the top of your column and it updates, you lose your position in the column and end up at the new top. (hootsuite.com)
We have now created a feature that informs our users of new tweets while maintaining the column scroll position. This is now available in auto-refresh.

Sorry, I don't see this in auto-refresh. Where can we switch off auto-scroll?

Thank you to HootSuite for listening to users. This has helped tremendously.

Not even the manual refresh works. It will still lose your position.

dude, no, no, no. i'm not gonna remember manual refresh; i'm gonna be mad when i think hootsuite is broken b/c the same tweets have been up. short attention span, ya know? besides, hootsuite didn't always lose your place; what caused the change?

+1 for Amanda's comment. I think this is a dupe of http://feedback.hootsuite.com/forums/40182-hootsuite-com-web-dashboard/suggestions/538853-keep-column-scrolling-position-when-updating too. Go vote there!

I agree with this. I'll be scrolling through tweets and as soon as a new tweet appears it automatically takes me to the top of the column. Very annoying.
Why not have a notification appear near the tweet that you are viewing that says "New tweets available...go to the top?"

Yes please add this to the next Hootsuite version. Currently, it's annoying returning from a different tab to find that the timeline position has shifted! It's difficult to use Hootsuite as my primary twitter app unless this is fixed.

I would like this feature as well (for the web). Everytime I get new tweets, it'll bring me to the top, PLUS will remove the notification of what tweets it last loaded.

Please fix this problem in the web interface. Even when I'm in the middle of reading a tweet, HootSuite takes me back to the top of the column. Infuriating.

This would be a fantastic feature. One of the reasons I keep going back to Tweetdeck is to be able to hold position when I'm not locked at the top. But then I tire of the lack of threaded conversations in Tweetdeck and switch back to Hootsuite.

YES; it's SOOO critical that we not lose our place while reading! it's like you have a book open & someone comes along, smacks it out of your hand, then kicks it across the room.

i think this is the same as the request to keep the column scrolling position here:
http://feedback.hootsuite.com/forums/40182-hootsuite-com-web-dashboard/suggestions/538853-keep-column-scrolling-position-when-updating?ref=titlemy apologies if i'm wrong, but if i'm right, i encourage everyone to move their votes to the other idea, since it's already much more highly ranked. i think it's SOOO critical that we not lose our place while reading! it's like you have a book open & someone comes along, smacks it out of your hand, then kicks it across the room.

I keep losing my position when the scroll bar refreshes and I am reading a tweet lower on the page. Annoying to have to scroll down and hunt for it.

this is especially bad when reading tweets over a long timespan (like when I get into work in the morning and reading what happened overnight)... it totally throws me back to the top and drives me nuts!!!
This is in the web app in chrome btw
