At this point the Facebook API doesn’t allow us to do this. We’ll continue to research it, and implement down the road if possible.

I'm the Community Manager @BackStageCast and this would make my life so much easier. Since Hootsuite is the Professional Social Media Dashboard, implementing something like this or coming up with a workaround would be in keeping with what I subscribe to Hootsuite for.

it is quite hard to implement since API is control by Facebook.

I have been trying out the app Friendcaster on my Android phone, and it allows me to tag people in posts with the @ symbol. Nice feature, and can't wait to see it in Hootsuite!

It looks like people have been asking for this for over 2 years...that's quite excessive, don't you think, HootSuite?!?!?! Get on the ball guys!!!!!!! The purpose of using Hootsuite (at least for me) is to post to social media and save time every week/month by scheduling hundreds of posts. Now that I realized I can't tag businesses, HootSuite is essentially of no use and I'll be switching to Postcron.

There has to be a work around. Maybe an iFrame within the hootlet popup that allows you to access the Facebook OS directly. For Social Media all stars this is definitely a must have function that would open up a competitive advantage over other systems at least for a little while.

I agree, This feature is absolutely essential. Build continuity Hootsuite! (Seriously, you guys need to do this asap).
