Allow us to choose which type of retweet (old-style or new) on the fly rather than in settings

I prefer old-style, but when the tweet is long, I'd prefer the new-style. On the fly is necessary.

The official Twitter client supports on-the-fly choosing, which I think we've become used to. This would be a very welcome addition.

It would help if you just implement the opposite style in the menu which can be opened by clicking on the arrow for each tweet. So if you set the original style as default in the settings than you would find the option for the new retweet style under that arrow.
Furthermore it would also be helpful if I could choose which account I want to use for the Web retweets

The new retweet API allows to save characters to avoid a truncated retweet however there are a lot of situation where one has/would like to edit the forwarded tweet. The optioin to choose the retweet style should be an alternative due to the high number of people being satisfied with only one style.

I used TweetDeck before but with the move to Linux I moved to hootsuite. Since TD has implemented this option long ago and I have used it extensively it is really a great loss of efficiency with hootsuite.

I'd personally love to see it as a drop-down option to "quote" when you have the Twitter-style RTs active. This would allow quick native RTs and still have the option to provide editorial content when necessary.

YES!!! Please reference Twidroid, you can Retweet (native) or Retweet iwth Comment (old-style RT). It should be a choice each time, not a ham-fisted setting.

I have Tweed on my phone and when I click the Retweet button, it gives me the option of New style or Old style. New style has no more interaction-- just retweets. Old style will pre-format the content in the outgoing box. In the past 24 hours I changed my settings from one to the other in HootSuite and found, within minutes, I needed the other one.

Jason, this entry is more on-the-mark for what's needed. The on-the-fly nature of it is key, as now the option is buried in settings. I know that I use both styles of retweets consistently.
