I suggest you ...

multiple searches in one column

rather than having a different column for each search.. it would be good to be able to combine related searches into one column.. for example.. if you wanted to have a column tracking mentions of competitors..

        Wonderful. Now I just need more search terms, lol. But this REALLY cuts down on the screen space. FYI, I track multiple stocks using the $WXYZ convention for following stock message traffic on Twitter. HAving the ability to group lots of them together in one feed is my ultimate goal.

        This is a REALLY necessary idea. For those of us who tweet in very vertical spaces (like the stock market) we have specific, recurring terms to watch for (like a list of stock ticker symbols). If I could get away from having the world's longest side scroll bar by enabling a search column to track multiple terms that would be fabulous. The simple ability to do Boolean operations would be enough.
