I suggest you ...

Create Facebook link previews for RSS posts

We can now create Facebook posts with a link preview using the web interface. However, Facebook posts created by an RSS feed still do not create link previews.

Why not add a checkbox that allows you to specify whether or not you want images from the feed pulled in? If a user opts for images, select the first image from the feed as the image to post. I understand you can't determine social relevancy, but I'd argue most feeds have a "featured" or thumbnail image that appear before the post and if not, it's not difficult to alter the feed to make it appear first on our end.

I REALLY like HootSuite and was looking forward to getting additional team members involved. But the lack of this feature is a deal breaker and we'll have to look to other competitors that afford this ability.

      • Here's the problem: most webpages contain multiple images, including 1px. The problem comes with whichever image a computer deems as default. How will we know if the image in question is socially relevant? If it's irrelevant, it's worse than having no image at all.

For this reason, we've decided not to support Facebook previews with RSS feeds.

This sounds silly since the value of feed images is very important. RSS Feed shows images why is owly links to showing on facebook pages?

I agree!!! Please address this issue. Facebook posts with an image get MANY more likes and comments than just a single line of text.

Thumbnail preview is required to make the most of a client promotions.
Does hootsuite have future plans fot this feature to be added?
        Cheers

I actually just switched my RSS-->FB feed to dlvr.it since they can do the basic image sending and hootsuite - for some reason - can't. Hrm.

I have to use other services such as dlvr.it for some clients because they want their images to pull through and I would like all of my accounts to be in one place!
