Klout’s API should now tabulate Ow.ly URLs when calculating score.

This is now possible for mobile apps. For the web app, we’re putting this under consideration:

Currently, HootSuite only loads one tab at a time in order to preserve bandwidth and API calls.
However, we do see how useful this feature may be, and may consider it for future updates to our API call process.

Using HootDroid, which actually lets me know anytime ANY of my ~20 Twitter accounts gets mentioned, I see this as a majorly-missing feature in the desktop client.
Ideally, either a marker on the tab with the new mentions/DMs (with an option in the tab settings to use it or not).
Relatedly, a type of stream that aggregates mentions for all accounts into one stream, and replies done from there come from the mentioned account.

Happy to announce that you can now choose between old-skool “classic” RTs and Twitter web native style ReTweets.
Thanks for your ideas and participation!

Even the Android version of HootSuite allows on-the-fly Retweet method.
Fletcher Kauffman commented ·
I have Tweed on my phone and when I click the Retweet button, it gives me the option of New style or Old style. New style has no more interaction-- just retweets. Old style will pre-format the content in the outgoing box. In the past 24 hours I changed my settings from one to the other in HootSuite and found, within minutes, I needed the other one.

Jason, this entry is more on-the-mark for what's needed. The on-the-fly nature of it is key, as now the option is buried in settings. I know that I use both styles of retweets consistently.

Yes, important that users have on-the-fly option, not have it in settings. I use both styles on a daily basis.

We’re happy to announce a choice of Re-Tweet styles in the new release of HootSuite5.
You can now choose between “old school” traditional RTs or “Twitter native” style.
For instruction on changing your preferences, read to this Help Desk article: http://ow.ly/22Vt9
Enjoy RT-ing and thanks for all our feedback.

I find that I expect this behavior every time I use HootDroid-- then I remember that it isn't there.
