Would love more detail on what you’re trying to do.

Right now, you can do this in a search or keyword column by adding the “-” argument in front of the term you’d like to filter. This functionality is not available yet in home feeds and mentions columns, though.

This should really be generalized so that you can filter out any key-word from anything shown through hootsuite. You could then mask out spam messages, messages from people you're not interested in seeing content from, or hash-tags that you're not interested in. Tweetdeck have this feature http://twitpic.com/2aw7yl and Guy Kawazaki loves it.

Because there is no way for a computer to determine social relevancy for pictures, we have decided not to implement this feature.

Thank you for your feedback about Google+ Pages in HootSuite. As an official launch partner of Google+ Pages, HootSuite was allocated a very limited number of seats for trial launch which is why they were allocated to Enterprise customers first.
We are gathering feedback and paying close attention to how existing customers are using Google+ as well as the requests from our user community. We appreciate your patience as we collaborate with Google+ to expand this offering. We’ll be very pleased to share updates when possible.

This is a feature that’s worth considering for the Contacts section of the dashboard.

We’ll examine the options provided by each social network API, and if they offer language-specific options.
andybryant commented ·
Might also be cool to be able to set your preferred language - and have foreign language tweets auto-translated into English - along the lines of the similar feature in gmail.
andybryant commented ·
I've just realized that the search at search.twitter.com has the capability to select by language - so how come this functionality isn't mirrored into hootsuite?
andybryant commented ·
Agreed. This would indeed be a useful feature. I'm starting to find more and more searches turning up stuff I can't read.

We’re happy to announce a choice of Re-Tweet styles in the new release of HootSuite5.
You can now choose between “old school” traditional RTs or “Twitter native” style.
For instruction on changing your preferences, read to this Help Desk article: http://ow.ly/22Vt9
Enjoy RT-ing and thanks for all our feedback.

Another app on the Android does this - they offer Retweet, or Retweet with comment.

@Chris - that only works for a few keywords that you want to exclude - and as you say it only works for the search columns. The biggest problem with using the - exclude operator in search columns is that you're character limited. So if you've already got a complex search query - and lots of spam - it's impossible to tune out much of the spam.
