Please update this functionality. It would be a great help to me. I'm scheduling educational posts in a group and my posts are generally longer than 2000 characters. Thanks

The 2000 character limit on Hootsuite is a real obstacle to my continuing to use it. I'm actively looking into other social media schedulers as we speak, because having my posts cut off, which is how I learned of the limit, is simply not professional. And needing to limit my post lengths simply because I'll be using Hootsuite to schedule them, doesn't make good sense.

I have set up three pages on hootsuite- facebook, twitter and google+ pages. Initially I could post more characters on facebook and google+ and it would alert me that cannot post this on twitter with this many characters. Then I used to remove some characters and it would post on twitter as well. Now it just allows me to post on fb and google+ just as many characters I post on twitter. Any solution? Is this a part of recent upgrade or something??

So disappointed about 2000 FB character limit. I need ability to post up to approx 2,260.

Have not seen additional functionality, coming up on four years since your post Chris from Hootsuite. 2000 is not cutting it.

Wow, just installed the Hootsuite trial last week, was really excited to write out my posts and start scheduling them. Spent all weekend writing out my posts for the next 2 weeks, only to find out that 60% of them exceed the arbitrary 2000 character limit Hootsuite has, even though they still fall way below Facebook´s 60k character limit. I also cant tag people in my posts. Given that I will now have to manually publish these posts directly through Facebook, I dont really see much more reason to continue with Hootsuite.. The fact that this is going on 4 years and still an open issue, doesnt give much reassurance..

Being a Writer and Trainer, I conduct training classes in groups on Facebook. The character limit of 2000 is really not helping.

We should be able to post just as we can directly on Facebook. Kindly work on character limit.

        Thank you.

Why is there a 2000 character limit on Facebook posts, when you can exceed this in Facebook itself?

I´m very disapointed with Hootsuite because this stupid limitation ! 60k characters NOW ! - I am a costumer.

I also need that Hootsuite could post the allowed 60k characters. I used to post all my Blog content sometimes to some groups and fan pages, and people get angry when they begin to reading an article and then they can´t read the rest. Softwares like NetworkedBlogs and the ultimate SYMPHONY can do that, and post 60k characters, why Hootsuite can´t ???

Please increase this limit! It seriously impedes my ability to effective use of the HootSuite tool set, as I make daily posts that are very long. I had hoped that HootSuite would be a time saver for me. But, truncated posts are completely useless to me and my audience.

Increasing the limit to 5000, or even 7500 or 10 000, would be very good. 2000 is quite restricting for people who are sharing information which cannot be condensed, or text - such as daily Mass readings, in my case - which often exceed 2000.

The present 2014-1-29 limit on text bulk uploads is very confining to anyone who has many topics on each of three Social Media.

If Google, Microsoft, ASUS, Yahoo and others provide large volumes of space for text AND images, why not give users more space when this is just text that you can compress?

A Gigabyte would be nice per PRO account to be used as needed.

Also, it would be useful for Hootsuite to display how much bulk upload space is used and how much is left so that we can plan ahead better and not bump up against the limit during an upload. This saves time for the user and for Hootsuite.
