Threaded DM conversations - a la current @replies
Add a "show conversation" button for DM's to match the way @replies work. It's difficult to track conversations sometimes in the current setup.
One stream rather than incoming and outgoing.
It would be nice to have a DM conversation grouped by the conversation rather than lots of separate messages so it looks like it does on Twitter and is easier to read
please make conversation thread for direct message
Threaded style DM's for twitter in one stream
When you send a DM, you often get the reply hours/days later. This can be a problem if you have sent multiple DMs to the same Twitter user. It's difficult to know which DM is being responded to, especially if there are multiple DMs on the same subject.
The idea is to add a 'show conversation' link so DMs can be linked and you can review the history before replying.
To follow a conversation, actually whe have 2 feeds (DM sent & DM reception) without connection between the both
It's very difficult to follow Direct Message between 2 people.
Twitter is the perfect tools for direct conversation and when I receive an DM answer, I can't assign it to the right question or message.
I use an other app following a DM conversation.
I think this feature is a very useful feature for me and you
And maka Hootsuite the #1 twitter tools
It would be cool to have the ability to see all the related messages in one place - either inbox or outbox. Its possible in a couple of mobile apps and quite useful to keep track of conversations.
In most Twitter clients you can see full conversations in your DM column. In hootsuite you can't and infact it's quite difficult to see sent DMs. I constantly see myself going back to tweetdeck to get a handle on DM conversations. This is really a must for any user of hootsuite.
One of the most useful features of HootSuite is the way you thread conversations in the main Mentions column. I can't figure out why you don't also do this by default in the Direct Message Inbox.
I can't easily recall every DM I send, and sometimes people take a while to reply - by which point, the context is often lost. This means I have to keep both an Inbox and "Outbox" column alongside each other in the UI, to provide a simulation of threading. That's a poor use of limited screen real estate.
Twitter now supports threading DMs in their web and mobile interfaces. When will HootSuite offer this too?
It would be nice to have a combined column for sent and received direct messages in one place so that you can follow the conversation more easily. TweetDeck has this.
We’d love to add this feature in the future and are looking into the possibility of this. Thanks for all your feedback!

Come on, this needs to be added. The current design has one major floor-It's bloomin' hard to keep track of conversations when there are multiple going on at once. It should be like TweetDeck where you have one DM stream with tabbed users, when you click on a users DM, it expands to show you all the messages.
Any news on this feature? Thanks!

is there any feature that has not been pending since 4 years?!
yes its sucks to have to go back to twitter.com for that
yes please! all apps hace that, and this no, why??

It would best function when sorted by account name - exactly as is done in the main Twitter app, for example. So that your conversations with person X are all together, person Y are all together, etc.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Can the votes for this be merged with the one listed here: http://feedback.hootsuite.com/forums/40182-hootsuite-com-web-dashboard/suggestions/538713-threaded-dm-conversations-a-la-current-replies ?

Definitely need a threaded DM. I miss my Tweetdeck DM conversations, can't track what I've asked or replied to people

This is huge, I don't like wasting a column's space just to display my outbound DMs.
+1 for @dqdave, that's strange, I'm feeling like I talk through the account for his.
+1 for @Michael Andreas, with Thread feature and this feature, the DM using can be more simple and useful for user.
This would help me out majorly. DMs are a mess right now.

This would be great combined with the threaded suggestion: http://feedback.hootsuite.com/forums/40182-hootsuite-com-web-dashboard/suggestions/538713-threaded-dm-conversations-a-la-current-replies
Also strange the DM avatar of your OUTgoing DM's is of the recipient and not your own. A threaded DM system would prevent confusion.
Yeah... It doesn't make sense to have all the streams broken apart and not an option to merge them. What's the logic of having my retweeted tweets in another column and not on my @replies one? What's the logic of having one column for received and another one for sent Direct Messages? Doesn't make sense! No sense at all! At least give us the options to change that!!!
