I would prefer to link to content that is relevant to my audience in Norfolk, UK rather than Norfolk, Virginia in the USA. Being able to choose where the content gets pulled from would allow this.41 votes
Please make it possible to separately enable or disable audio and/or visual notifications from Stream => Preferences. Default to preference from general settings.40 votes
We’re reviewing further ways to integrate notifications in HootSuite.
We’ll consider alternatives for the calendar.
i.e., I could set up autoschedule so that twitter will post 6 posts a day, while facebook only posts 3, even when I constantly add both to my posts.40 votes
Support goo.gl as a URL shorter and tracking option. It also offers statistics and is frequently used by posters.39 votes
We’ll review which additional URL shorteners to add to future releases.
Like Gtalk, Msn, OCS, or other instant messenger, when you press the ESCape key, it closes the current window. For the browser hootsuite I would like to have a similiar aproach. Sometimes im writting a tweet, suddenly I give up that idea and dont want to submit it. I'd like to, when i press the ESCape key, have the box that i was typing getting cleared and closed.39 votes
This is a great feature suggestion that would improve HootSuite’s usability.
I often share streams with my team, but they are not always useful for forever. I'd like to be able to delete, edit or otherwise be able to control and refine these shared streams.
This would reduce clutter and make it easier for team members to find new shared streams.39 votes
Thanks for your feedback! We’ll look at the possibility of this in the future.
Sometimes we get a call from a client to pause all activity for a period of hours/days because of some approval delay or unrelated crisis. At the moment we go into the Monthly view and drag all the scheduled stuff out an extra period of time. It would be great just to have a pause button that pauses all scheduled comms, ideally at a Team level (because a team usually works on content across one Twitter and one FB account)39 votes
Interesting idea! We’ll look at the options for adding this functionality in the future. Thanks!
I would like to be able to view my 'Interests' on Facebook as a stream on my Dashboard. For instance, I do marketing and pr for a number of hotels. The hotels are grouped on my Interest list and I'd like to be able to see when each hotel posts something that i might want to share with my various social networks.
We’ll look at the ability to do something like this from Facebook’s API. Thank you for your suggestion!
I spent 20 minutes looking for a billing email or phone number. It is not appropriate to ask customers to post billing issues on a forum or send a message on social media. I am not sure how anyone thought that was acceptable. Billing issues, concerns, or questions are PRIVATE.39 votes
The compose box is ok for Twitter, but when doing FB & G+ messages, it would be helpful to go past 4 lines. Make the box expandable to any size I want by letting me drag the corner, just like in a lot of forums. it is currently too small.38 votes
Interesting idea! We’ll look at altering the design of the compose message box in the future. Thanks!
There's no Hootlet for Opera? Common Opera is now Chromium-based, all you have to do basically is to upload the same extension to https://addons.opera.com38 votes
It's possible to delete Facebook and Twitter posts from within HootSuite, but this feature seems to be missing for Google+ posts.
Can you please make it possible for us to delete Google+ posts within HootSuite? That would be really convenient. Thanks for considering the idea!38 votes
Great suggestion! We’ll look at the possibility of adding this functionality in the future, as long as it’s possible within the Google API. Thanks!
When posting to Wordpress there is no way to set the title of the post. I suggest using the first line for the title and the rest for the body.38 votes
We hope to add additional WordPress functionality in the future.
Twitter now supports the search operator "near:", followed by the name of a place, e.g. near:"Brisbane, Australia". There are other sites now offering this functionality under a "local search" banner (see monitter) and that's a super useful targeting tool for small business.
Please add support for this operator and allow geo search.
Currently, you can do geocode specific searches. For example: “geocode:49.2846165,-123.0954835,25km”
We do not yet offer functionality for the “near:” operator. However, this is on our road map.
Most countries start their week on Monday, while others do it on Sunday. Being able to choose whether the week starts on Sunday or on Monday would make it easier for people scheduling their tasks on the calendar.37 votes
We’ll continue to monitor this thread to gauge interest from other HootSuite users.
We need clean the assignments area sometimes. It's important to us remove or delete the resolved assignments. Just add a remove or delete option to the assignmets area.37 votes
Great idea! For now, you can filter out resolved assignments in the top view by choosing “Open” in the drop down.
Instead of kicking the toggle back and forth between Auto-Schedule and not, I would like to see a way that RTs or replies are not auto-scheduled and it is recognized that, that information should be sent in real time.36 votes
This is an excellent feature suggestion, and we’ll continue to monitor how many users would like to implement this feature.
When FB friends post updates with games they are playing (like Farmville) I like to hid them. They don't show up on FB after I hide them, but they keep showing up in Hootsuite. Hidden people are removed from Hootsuite, but not hidden games36 votes
We hope to add further Facebook functionality in future releases.
Allow scheduling of RSS feed updates. For instance to look for an update at 9:30am, 12:30am, and 4:00pm. Market open, midday, and close. :)36 votes
While we don’t check RSS feeds for specific times, you can choose which time interval to check for new updates.
We may consider specific times in the future.
Keep in mind that current RSS technology does not allow for precise updates on the hour. However, doing a general check usually allows us to retrieve the latest post within minutes.
